What is a Hydrafacial?

A Hydrafacial is a facial carried out with a device, which generally combines four actions in a single session: cleansing the skin, exfoliating it, extracting impurities and hydrating it. SIMEHA Institut offers it in two versions.

The device works with a tip that passes over the skin. The treatment involves no needles. It is for people who want a complete skin cleanse without going through several separate treatments.

The Hydrafacial is one of our facials, where you will also find the Kobido, the peel and LED.

Two versions: Hydrafacial Signature and Complete Hydra glow

We offer the Hydrafacial Signature, in 1 h, and the Complete Hydra glow, in 1 h 30 min. Both treatments exist for women and for men, at the same price.

TreatmentDurationPrice
Hydrafacial Signature1 hCHF 149
Complete Hydra glow1 h 30 minCHF 199

The Signature is the basic treatment. The Complete Hydra glow is the longest version. If you are unsure, ask on WhatsApp or book the personalised skin assessment first, at CHF 49.

Who is the Hydrafacial for?

The Hydrafacial is for women and men who want a complete skin cleanse, whatever their age. It is often chosen before an event, at the change of season or as regular upkeep.

It generally appeals to people whose skin looks dull, those whose pores are visible and those who simply want clearer skin. It also appeals to men, whose skin is put to the test by shaving.

Like any beauty treatment, the Hydrafacial does not replace medical advice. If you are on a skin treatment, or if you have a lesion, an irritation or a known allergy, say so before the treatment. The beautician can then adapt it or suggest that you wait.

What happens during a session at SIMEHA Institut?

A Hydrafacial session at the salon starts with a talk about your skin, then the beautician carries out the treatment step by step, explaining each one. The session takes 1 h or 1 h 30 min depending on the version.

In its usual form, the treatment follows this order:

  1. Cleansing removes make-up and surface impurities.
  2. Exfoliation removes dead cells.
  3. Extraction draws impurities out of the pores.
  4. Hydration brings hydrating ingredients to the skin.

You lie down in a treatment room for the whole session. You can go back to your day as soon as you leave.

How often should you have a Hydrafacial?

There is no single frequency for the Hydrafacial: it depends on your skin and on what you expect from the treatment. The beautician suggests a suitable rhythm at the end of the first session.

Some people come once, before an occasion. Others make it a regular appointment. The price of each session stays the one shown: CHF 149 for the Signature and CHF 199 for the Complete Hydra glow. We explain what makes the price of such a treatment vary in the guide how much a Hydrafacial costs.

Tips before and after a Hydrafacial

Before a Hydrafacial, it is generally best to avoid scrubs, peels and the sun in the days before. After the treatment, protect your skin from the sun and keep a gentle routine.

Before your appointment:

  • stop scrubs and exfoliating products a few days before;
  • mention any treatment, any allergy and any recent procedure on your face;
  • for men, shave the day before if you can.

After your appointment:

  • leave your skin without make-up for a few hours;
  • apply sun protection;
  • avoid the sauna, the steam room and intense exercise on the day itself;
  • wait a few days before going back to a scrub.
